Q:
How do you tackle the consolidation of manufacturing facilities to achieve a seamless transition?
A:
By hiring a team with the know-how to make it happen.
Challenge:
Fox planned and managed the relocation of three facilities into one 250,000 square feet manufacturing facility. The scope included 40,000 square feet of office space, and 210,000 square feet of combined distribution, warehouse and manufacturing space. Fox developed the master schedule and coordinated all phases of the relocation in conjunction with a phased construction schedule, and the phased relocation of the landlord’s other two tenants from the facility.
Strategy:
Fox coordinated all aspects of the move planning and implementation over an eight-month time frame. We managed the bid process for the movers, riggers, and crate rentals. Several thousand pieces of machinery, hazardous materials tubs and tanks, benches, mold and model making tools, racks, shelving and related equipment were relocated over eight weeks.
Results:
Fox’s competency and experience with the process of bidding and managing complex transitions helped Victoria & Co. realize a savings in excess of $60,000 in relocation costs, with zero impact on business operations.
