Candlewick Press is a publisher that specializes in children’s books for readers of all ages. They have received more than 1500 accolades and honors since the company began in 1991, and has been named "the fastest growing children’s publisher in the U.S." by Publishers Weekly.
Due to the requirement for additional space for this growing company and the expiration of their existing lease agreement, Candlewick Press hired Fox to relocate their headquarters from 2067 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA to a 29,000 sf space at 99 Dover Street, Somerville, MA. The new Somerville location was renovated to accommodate a staff of 110, as well as conference rooms, an art studio, storage rooms, and libraries. The move was completed in March 2008.
This relocation was a major endeavor for Candlewick Press and required careful planning to assure business operation continuity. Fox worked closely with a team of Candlewick departmental move coordinators to accomplish the myriad of tasks to prepare for the relocation. Fox planned and managed this successful move, as well as the disposition of excess furniture from their existing space.
